I played my top favorite songs on these–Mockingbird, Lost Horizon, Marea–and can attest to how crisp and clear everything sounded. I liked how expansive the soundstage felt compared to my everyday buds, the Cleer Arc II. It was almost as if the soundstage had been injected with space. One of the areas that particularly impressed me was low-end. I could hear the bass I only noticed on over-ear headphones or a speaker. The mids were rich and balanced, and the treble didn’t lose its crispness at high volumes.

In the meantime, if you're interested in being on the cutting edge of listening, and you’re not tied to Apple’s ecosystem (or not super into AirPods with your iPhone), I highly recommend you check out the Aurvana Ace 2 (or Ace, if you are feeling frugal). They offer a true glimpse into the future of portable audio, and you don’t have to pay an arm and a leg to hear it.

As I've already mentioned, the Creative Aurvana Ace 2 sound impressive, and with the EQ on hand in the app, you can customize the sound to fit your ears like some sort of futuristic ear-glove. The look isn't to be discounted either—while the earbuds and case don't feel quite as luxurious as they look, it's a striking aesthetic.

One thing’s for sure: Creative’s Aurvana Ace series offers a great audio experience alongside premium features like wireless charging and aptX Lossless for a reasonable price — what’s not to like about that?

If you are in the market for the best-sounding wireless earbuds, consider the Creative Aurvana Ace 2. The xMEMS driver system sounds excellent, and you can customize the sound using the Creative app. Combined with aptX Lossless support, these earbuds will pique the interest of many audiophiles.

The Creative Aurvana Ace and Ace 2 are a genuine innovation. They sound like a great pair of true wireless earbuds, and their use of xMEMS drivers delivers a precise high end while the dynamic driver produces a powerful bass and clear midrange. If these earbuds are indicative of xMEMS technology, the future is exciting for this kind of solid-state driver. Both pairs of earbuds are sensibly priced and it’s good to see Creative taking a risk by adopting this innovative technology before anyone else.

I might sound as if I'm overselling it…but I'm not. With regards to sound, I'm about as picky as they come. The Creative Aurvana Ace 2 earbuds have reset the bar for me, and I cannot imagine another device knocking the crown off their head.

"The Aurvana Ace 2 combine an exquisite sound with an extensive feature-set and interesting translucent design. These earbuds use xMEMS solid-state drivers to augment the traditional dynamic drivers, and the result is an energetic sound signature that's better than anything else in this category. You don't miss out on any of the extras as well, and for $149, I don't think you'll get earbuds that offer anywhere as much value — or as good a sound."

Combined with the high-bitrate audio codec support, flashy design and reasonable price we believe the Aurvana Ace 2 are worth considering if you’re in the market for a new pair of wireless earbuds.

It was Creative’s Aurvana Ace that promise the best way to try out xMEMS solid-state driver tech for yourself at home in my opinion. Not least because the price of the Aurvana Ace is $129 / £134 (approx. AU$200), and that gives enthusiasts a more accessible way to experience the latest innovation in headphone speaker tech in second pair that don't have to replace your main pair necessarily.

The Creative Aurvana Ace 2 are very good for sports and fitness. Their IPX5 rating reduces the chances of water damage for those runs in the rain, while their fit is relatively stable for earbuds without additional wings. They feel lightweight and comfortable, while the thumpy bass response can help motivate your workout. Still, the fit is highly dependent on the individual's ears.

I got a sneak preview of the exciting new buds at a demo with Creative, and was immediately impressed by the elevated power of the next-generation dual 10mm dynamic drivers. But you’re probably more interested in whether they sounded as good as the best wireless earbuds? While it’s still too early to give any kind of comprehensive review (and there are so many factors beyond the driver tech that determines this), my first impressions are very positive. The sound reproduction was exceptionally clear when I tried them, with everything I listened to in the demo coming across exceptionally crisp.

The best of the new MEMS-fitted earbuds I tried in the developer’s CES suite were the Aurvana Ace 2 ($149) and–almost as good–the $129 Aurvana Ace, both from Creative Labs, which demonstrated a well-balanced, natural, and effortlessly detailed performance on a wide variety of music, from pop (Olivia Rodrigo) to cool jazz (Miles Davis) and even bombastic classical (Carl Orff’s Carmina Burana)

First impressions are everything, and if the Aurvana Ace 2 are any indication of where solid-state earbuds are going, then the future looks bright for the sub-category. It’s hard to complain about sound-first earbuds equipped with the latest audio technologies and noise cancelation, even if the latter doesn’t perform at an elite level.

If you’re in the market for a solid set of wireless ANC earbuds for jamming out at the gym or listening to tunes at work, the Creative Aurvana Ace 2 is in-ear hardware that mostly makes the grade.

Do these earbuds fulfill those promises? Well, you probably won't find better-sounding earbuds at this price. The Ace 2 produces plenty of detail and clarity in the highs. The mids and lower notes are apparently produced by the 10mm dynamic drivers because the the xMEMS drivers can't do it yet. But here's the thing: I preferred the sound with ANC, even if it feels more enclosed. The bass is more tight and punchy, while the vocals sound more intimate.

The Aurvana Ace 2 has demonstrated that using xMEMS drivers, the earbuds can produce articulated music details to bring out the finer sound that often gets buried in highly-excitable audio mixes caused by overzealous treble sparkles. It certainly makes listeners rethink about what they have been listening to and how good earphones can deliver more musical information to their ears. Creative has employed new technologies to achieve something that might take greater effort using traditional dynamic drivers.

Creative’s Aurvana Ace 2 might be the most affordable entry in this shootout by some margin, but that doesn’t mean it gives up on features or performance. Alright, the build is slightly low-rent and its battery life is quite disappointing, but its ANC is more than decent and it sounds pretty good. Furthermore, it’s the only earbuds here to support the new aptX Lossless codec. If you are willing to look past its shortcomings and want the most bang for your buck, the choice is clear.

Blew away the sound from my Apple AirPods Pro! Yes the Apple features are great on the iPhone with AirPods Pro, but the sound quality leaves a lot to be desired. Love the sound quality of these. I also paired them with an Android phone. Great sound quality as well!
Best earbuds I've ever heard. Hands-down. Ear Tips are a little hard for me. If they came with the Zen Air ear tips instead they'd be a 6/5! 😄
